Club Benefits
We had a spirited and good natured discussion at the last club meeting concerning the subject of “Membership Benefits”. It all started with the question “ If you were asked by a non-club member, what you receive as benefits by being in the PropTwisters, what would you tell them? We had a period of time where the attending members were thinking, thinking thinking. Hmmmm, benefits? What’s a benefit? Oh yeah, I used to know what a benefit was! Let’s see…. The question was put out by email to the membership at large and a few great replies came back. Here are a couple of them. Names have been with-held to protect those that answered the inquiry. “I wanted to get back to you with what is most valuable in club membership for me. The sharing of information is at the top of the list. It is also a chance to widen one's circle of friends and be outdoors. In speaking as a group, we also have much more leverage on public issues that concern the land we currently use to recreate in. As the city grows and the housing density increases in the neighborhood of the Flying Field, we will need all of our collective thinking power to negotiate new ways to keep the noise to a minimum and the neighbors smiling. Thanks for all of your work this past year. I joined the club initially to get access to building materials and fuel. Then I found that just being part of our group made me feel "accepted" where most people thought R/C was like playing with toys, and a waste of time. I am also thankful to have such a large group to learn from. If there is a question I have, ( R/C, or otherwise) many people are eager to help out. I am the same way and try to help others as well. So, here is my list of benefits in the order of importance as I see them from my perspective.”

“FRIENDSHIP, THE KNOWLEDGE & THOUGHTS OF OTHER RC FLYERS WHEN YOU NEED HELP, INSURANCE..… In speaking with many of you, it seems that most of the members feel that the Club facilitates the increased enjoyment they derive from their hobby. Bringing like-minded people together fosters the benefits of acceptance, sharing of information, comradelier and assistance. For us in the Walla Walla area, we are blessed to have a nice flying field close at hand , great insurance, and a good source of fuel. I think a person would be hard pressed to find better liability insurance coverage for the cost. Some of the peripheral benefits that we listed at he club meeting and speaking with you in addition to the ones already mentioned are::
